File stays locked after opening a new one

While watching, drop a new file on the window. It starts playing fine, but the previous one cannot be deleted until VLC is closed.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information

After some testing it looks like it is the directory that is locked, not the file itself. Deleting the individual file works, deleting the folder that the file is in doesn't work.
