VLC 2.0.7 for Windows incorrectly renders mouse pointer image, when desktop video capture area is limited
In most cases, VLC crashes, when command line includes --screen-width=
and --screen-height=
switches to limit capture are dimensions, as reported in #8876 (closed) (https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/8876).
I rare occasions, when it does not crash, it renders captured video with incorrectly drawn mouse pointer. Instead of full mouse image provided, VLC rendered captured video as mouse image would be only 1x1 pixels in size and it repeated it in many frames. So, instead of normal mouse cursor, we can see smudges of repeated top right pixel of that mouse image provided, as user moves mouse on screen.
This only happens, when using --screen-mouse-image
together with --screen-width=
and --screen-height=
switches, i.e. when capturing desktop video with mouse pointer and with limited capture area. If capturing entire screen (without --screen-width=
and --screen-height=
switches) with mouse pointer (with --screen-mouse-image
switch), mouse image is correctly rendered.
Unable to verify this bug in 2.1.0 (nightly) due to problems mentioned in #8871 (closed) report.
