Weird problem on Traditional Chinese (big5) subtitle

If there was another subtitle file available, the Traditional Chinese (big5) subtitle file could not be shown properly. After I removed the file of English subtitle from the folder, the problem was gone.

The problem have not come up if the subtitles were embedded in mkv container or if the discrete subtitle file was encoded with UTF-8.

If you use two or more external subtitles files, subtitles language default encoding setting is ignored and compulsively treated as UTF-8.

I think it's a bug rather than a specification.

At the moment, you have to convert big5 to UTF-8.

That's probably caused by Derk-Jan horrible's encoding hack or another one.

It should be fixed as a side effect of the removal of TheDJ's hack.

Not fixed in 2.0.5.

Two srt files, one English and one Romanian, both picked up by VLC on start-up, the encoding is changed to UTF-8 even though the settings say differently (ISO-8859-16). No matter what subtitle track is selected, the encoding stays UTF-8.

The only way to make it work with the desired encoding is by leaving only the Romanian translation alongside the video file.

I can provide a sample clip and srt files if necessary.

Edit: It also works with both srt files next to the video file, if the English srt file is opened in a text editor and saved with a UTF-8 encoding. After this, it will pick up both srt files and use the correct encoding from the settings for both files.
