VLC Will Not Recognize a Video_TS Folder on a Network Volume

Mac OS X 10.6.8, VLC 2.0.0 Twoflower, MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo.

When using the Open Disk -> Video_TS Folder command, a Video_TS folder on a network volume is not recognized. After selecting it the window says "insert disc". The same folder is recognized on a local volume.

In my experience this bug is worse in that it also affects folders on external discs connected via Firewire, USB or any other local interface.

I cannot reproduce for a locally attached external HDD via USB.

I do not have a firewire connector. But I don't see why firewire should be different than USB in this regard.
