command-line option "--volume" has no effect
The command-line option to start vlc at a certain volume is no longer working. This worked in a previous version (I believe a version sometime in summer 2010 is when this broke, but that is a pretty vague guess).
To reproduce the behavior, simply run vlc from the command prompt as follows:
vlc.exe --volume=5 my_music.mp3
The player will start at 100% volume as default, as if the --volume command had not been present at all.
I am running the latest VLC (1.1.4 - Jan 30 2011). Only a confirmed issue on Win 7, but possibly effecting all platforms.
