VLC ignores ID3 tags in AAC-encoded audio files

VLC ignores ID3 tags in AAC-encoded audio files; other formats like OPUS work fine.

Description

Expected behavior

VLC should organize audio files according to the artist, album, and title tags.

Actual behavior

When encountering AAC files, these files are sorted as "unknown artist" and "unknown album".

Steps to reproduce

  1. On a PC, Download video file from Youtube. Should be file with an AAC audio track.
  2. Use ffmpeg to extract the audio track.
  3. Edit ID3 tags of the AAC audio file with Picard. See for instance aqualung.aac
  4. Copy audio file to Android device.
  5. On the Android device, open VLC and sync the media files.
  6. Instead of being grouped according to artist and album, the files are sorted as "unknown artist" and "unknown album"

(I assume that the problems exists with all AAC files, not just with the ones converted from MP4.)
