Subtitiles appear to the left and then snap back to the center

Happens with SubRip srt subs. Couldn't reproduce with Advanced SubStation Alpha ass subs.

The subtitles appear on-screen, and then slightly shift position to the center. Tested on vlc-3.0.0-20170219-0450-git-win64.exe, and I made sure I reset my preferences while installing.

I've only tested on windows 10 pro, build 14393. i7 6700k, gtx 1070 v378.66.

to create the sample video I used this ffmpeg command: ffmpeg -f lavfi -i color=red:size=1280x720 -i red.srt -scodec copy -t 7 test-muxed.mkv

steps to reproduce:

1. open the video
2. look at the subs

provided is: the mkv I was using to test, though it's easily created the srt I used, though it's no different to any other a screen cap of me playing it

Is it a regression wrt to 2.2.4 ?

I think so, yes.

I was on 2.2.4 but couldn't play a video which had TrueHD/Atmos audio, so I upgraded to the latest nightly. Audio worked, but then this bug appeared on all videos.

I'll see if I can find the first version where this bug appeared for me.

Can you try with D3D11 and D3D9 outputs to see if it changes something for you?

It occurs with both - I also tried opengl and gdi outputs with the same results.

(Preferences -> Video -> Output and selecting from the dropdown).

I've narrowed the bug occurring down to these two nightlies:

vlc-3.0.0-20161203-0435-git-win64: subtitles work fine

vlc-3.0.0-20161214-1718-git-win64: bugged

unfortunately there's quite a large gap between the two.. (there aren't any nightlies in-between)
