Release Next

Now is the time to do a next release pretty soon with the new threading model and the AVX-512 code.

But, because we're approaching 1.0, we really need to fix/close/clean the tickets we have and the merge requests.

Some tickets or merge requests will be closed, even if not fixed, that's life. But we must clean to go further.

Important Merge requests to solve:

• Add new debug features
• More debug features
• Expose dav1d_apply_grain as part of the public API
• Meson: add option enable_docs

Merge requests nice to have:

• Implement prefetch of mvs
• CI: Add junit test log artifact
• DAV1D_MC_IDENTITY requires DAV1D_PIXEL_LAYOUT_I444
• Output only latest spatial layer if --alllayers 0
• oss-fuzz: exit dav1d_fuzzer after ~22 seconds

Important Features to discuss:

• Allow dav1d_get_picture to return information about which packet was bad

Important Issues to close or fix:

• Windows building issue
• Windows 32-bit DLL crashes in dav1d_ipred_*_ssse3 functions
• header ppc/types.h collides with a system header
• Errors not propagated when using frame threads
