LGTM. IIRC hw.logicalcpu was "new" at some point, and hasn't been around forever, but I can't easily find a reference to where it was introduced. A little bit of googling finds https://bugs.python.org/issue17444 which cites a mail from 2007 from a mailing list archive (which no longer is where it used to be) mentioning hw.logicalcpu - so it's safe to say it has been around long enough.

Oh for sure. It's just been around for all of the X86 days and quite far back in the PowerPC days. A lot of other opens source projects use this sysctl and that's it.
