Possible memory leak regarding VLC 2.0.4 when playing a crafted MKV file.

Possible memory leak regarding VLC 2.0.4 when playing a crafted MKV file. The media file will not be rendered (buffering forever) but memory usage will spike in a well defined loop (from 100MiB - up to 550MiB).

The following thread is causing the memory usage spikes: msvcrt.dll (start address: 0+21a341)

This behaviour has been encountered on both machines (Windows XP and Windows 7).

This behaviour could happen if the demux tries to bufferize all the data so it's not leaking just bufferizing to an unknown point. I'm still downloading the dump but the mkv itself is way more interesting.

edit: I got the dump but I don't really know what's in it. I don't know any way to exploit that. I cannot really work on that without the file.

the first 100Mb should be enough for a preanalyze or typx[AT]videolan[DOT]org
