Effects and filters settings are always saved to preferences
In VLC 1, the user could choose when to save the default effect settings. VLC 2 always saves effect settings and there is no way to prevent it. This causes problems when a video needs temporary image adjustments as they are always applied to all subsequently played videos even if VLC is closed and restarted.
Steps to reproduce:
-
Play a video in VLC
-
Change contrast setting in Effects and Filters
-
Exit VLC
-
Play a video in VLC
The contrast setting is restored to a non-default value set in step 2. If you just start VLC, the contrast setting is not restored until video playback is started.
