mmdevice unloading crashes Firefox on reload

Hi I have tried both , Vlc.2.0.1.64 bit , with my nightly-15.a-X64 Which the result was , Firefox webplugin not start.

Then i try last Vlc-2.1.0 nightly ( i mean this one : http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win64/vlc-2.1.0-20120517-0404/

Firefox web-plugin starts , but with lots of freeze and hangs (very unstable) Please more consider Vlc 64-bit version for next final vlc version release.

here u could download last Firefox (nightly) for Win64 bit : http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/firefox-15.0a1.en-US.win64-x86_64.installer.exe

or always could get latest nightly firefox 64 bit from here : http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/

http://i.imgur.com/5AZgA.png : fails with 32bits as well (vlc-2.1.0-20130104-0003)

The issue is linked to WASAPI/MMDevice. Removing the mmdevice dll fixes the crash on reload.

It crashes on the call to EnterMTA() in Close() :

err:ole:CoInitializeEx Attempt to change threading model of this apartment from apartment threaded to multi-threaded

Reproducible in Wine.

Please test other browsers : Chroma / Opera / Safari(?)

long time ago , i had tried other browser , and same (this crash is reporduicable with them too)

since it's already reproducible for u vlc devs , could we see any fix with vlc 2.0.6?

Any news (or update) about ticket work status for resolving this bug?

Guys , This bug is very annoying , and is a blocker ,

first i (and also jb) had thought it only happens in 64 bit , and JB , change the priority from blocker to normal (in comment 2) but since funman had confirmed , it's not on;y 64 bit os issue , so this ticket (bug) could be set back as a blocker with high priority , isn't it?

MMDevice is in 2.1.0, not 2.0.6

mmdevice: do not enter the COM MTA upon unloading (fixes [#6830](https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/-/issues/6830))

(The MTA is still entered upon loading. In that case, it fails safe.)
