RC for VLC on ipod touch no longer works with VLC 2.0.1

when i upgraded from 2.0 to 2.0.1, the Remote Control for VLC from my ipod touch no longer connected with VLC player. i tried to re-connect it using the instructions but it still does not work. there doesn't seem to be a specific "HTTP remote control interface" option any longer. am i doing something wrong?
