Problem while recording a DVD

    Hello,

    If you try to record a DVD with VLC media player, there´s sometimes in the resulting video file no sound. I´ve tried with several Computers, it´s the same for all. In most of the recorded files the sound is missing after ca. 60 min. Until this point the video and sound can be played as normal. But afterwards the video is played sometimes fast-forward and there isn´t any sound. Some dvd work without any problem, but some don´t. It´s no matter if the DVD file is over 4gb or not...

      I can not provide any exact reproduction steps, because it doesn´t fail with all DVDs. But I can give you an exact example: The Film "10.000 BC": I´ve recorded it normally with VLC Media Player and when I tried to play the recorded file with VLC or another program it always fails. At the time, where the sound ends the time-bar jumps from 38:12 to 1:16:52. At this moment there is no sound anymore. And the time-bar doesn´t go on, it´s still on 1:16:52.

      The Message "early picture skipped" is exactly at the time when the sound ends. May I can upload the video file, so you can see exactly what I mean. Some other films that failed are "Avatar" and "I am Legend".

      What do you mean with "this, again" ?? Is there any workaround or a solution for this problem ?

      I know which ticket you mean ( #3136) but i've successfully recorded a dvd which is much bigger than 4gb (it has nearly 6,5 gb). So why does it sometimes work correctly and sometimes not?? And finally: How can I record a dvd without any sound/video problems??? It must be possible to record every dvd without any errors.
