choppy internet radio playback in Ogg
When trying to listen to an internet radio stream found at the url: http://www.radio.pionier.net.pl/stream.asx?radio=afera the playback "jumps" every several seconds to another position in the stream.
This is only a VLC issue and it's platform independent - when using mplayer under Linux or WinAmp under Windows, everything is ok.
It was this way in VLC 1.x and is still in 2.0.
It might be related to encoding format of this particular stream, or something, as other internet radio streams on this website do not have this issue. Couple of examples: http://www.radio.pionier.net.pl/stream.asx?radio=merkury http://www.radio.pionier.net.pl/stream.asx?radio=mcradio
What I've noticed in case of radio=afera is that the stream is being restarted every 3-5 seconds - you can see it by looking at the progress counter at the left of the progress bar. In case of the other mentioned streams, the progress counter behaves normally. However, such behavior can be observed also in mplayer, which plays the stream well, so in my opinion, VLC should also be able to handle this and play the stream continuously.
Of course, I've tried setting different values for the :file-caching option (from 0 milliseconds to 10 seconds), and it doesn't help (when setting the value to 10 seconds VLC even doesn't start the playback at all).
