cue file path encoding problem
I encountered this problem on Mac OSX Lion; I do not know if the same problem is replicable on Windows or Linux variants of VLC Media Player.
Actual cue file content does not matter, so I am not attaching any files. Here is the replication procedures:
- Copy media.cue and media.flac into its own directory (ie: ~!/Media/Test/LatinFolderName/ )
- Open media.cue with VLC Media Player, cue file loads media.flac no problem.
- Close VLC Media Player, and rename folder to non-ascii; in Mac OSX, if I am not terribly mistaken, this should default to UTF-8 encoding. (ie: ~!/Media/Test/にほんご/ )
- Open media.cue with VLC Media Player, cue file attempts to load ~!/Media/Test/????/media.flac and fails to load.
Temporary work around is relatively simple: rename the folder to use latin characters. But this may or may not appeal everyone. At the same time, I suspect because of different file system formats, and encoding settings, a fix for this may be non-trivial. That said and all, a fix at one point would be greatly appreciated.
