Blank "Track number" on Media Information tab isn't saved

To replicate:

1. Open an mp3 in VLC that has an existing value for "Track number"
2. Press CTRL+I to view Media Information
3. Note existing value for "Track number"
4. Clear the field entirely
5. Click "Save Metadata" button
6. Open another mp3, then open the original one again
7. Note the value that was cleared has returned.

I don't see how the code is wrong. Can you check with VLC 1.2?
