608 + SCTE-20 in the same clip
I have several European transport streams that contain both a 608 caption track as well as an SCTE-20 track with the same information. Depending on how offset those two tracks are, VLC will do one of several things:
- double-up letters "HHeelllloo"
- double-up sentence chunks "Hello hHello how areow are you you"
- display nothing (I think this is because it's using pop-over captions and the swap active/inactive buffer command is occurring at or near the same video frame for 608 ch1 and SCTE-20 ch1)
What I would expect:
- If 608 and SCTE-20 exist in the same video, VLC should pick one or the other.
- Even better, have something in the settings that lets the user prefer one over the other.
- Even better still, something during playback to toggle between the two (similar to toggling between caption channels 1-4)
