Problem with pcm audio playback through Pulseaudio

Hi, when I play video files from my digital camera with VLC under Ubuntu, I have the problem that I hear no sound or if I play with the volume control, I only hear a crackling noise.

This occurs when I use PulseAudio as sound system, not with ALSA.

I use VLC 1.1.9 under Ubuntu 11.04.

The video file (AVI) has a H264 video stream (#0) and the audio stream (#1 (closed)) is: Codec: PCM U8 (araw) Channels: Mono Rate: 11024 Hz Bps: 8

I have attached the audio track of that video file, same problem with it: If I play it through PA, it fails, and if I use ALSA, it works.

Would be great to see a fix for that as I have that problem now for several years and finally decided to file a bug report.
