VLC MKV Artifacts/Glitching
CPU: iMac 8,1 (4GB, 2.66 GHz C2D, 256 MB ATI HD 2600 Pro HD) OSX: 10.6.4
Movies that previously worked/played flawlessly in VLC now have artifacts/stuttering during playback. Tried watching a 12 GB .mkv of Black Hawk Down I made, artifacts and stuttering throughout. Works fine on 1.0.5. CPU usage is nominal during this; 20-50%. It appears to only effect larger files; anything 720p+ is highly affected; lower quality/size files showed no visible issues/artifacts. Stuttering on large files is a HUGE problem. Pausing fixes the still image, but it resumes again once the video is unpaused.
Additional notes: -Mainly MKVS were tested, as their my primary file-type, but other file types were tested as well, to a lesser degree. -32-64 bit independent -Not present in 1.0.5 -All files play fine in QuickTime X + Perian, and all file integrity checks pass -All files tested for this test play fine in 1.0.5 -Due to file size I cannot post these movies for testing, but I can provide logs and screen shots.
NOTE: After additional testing, this appears to be rather inconsistent, but reproducible, with only the largest mkvs displaying the target issues. With that said, these files displaying issues worked fine in 1.0.5. I think there's a correlation between the size and format relative to the issues.
