TrueHD coreaudio passthrough to external amplifier/receiver
Hi! I'm using VLC for playing back BluRays on Linux and I have encountered one annoyance: When I select a DTS-HD stream, the core DTS audio encapsuled in the HD stream gets sent via S/PDIF to an external receiver - which is a really great thing! However with TrueHD this is not the case - VLC decodes the TrueHD stream (when built against a fairly recent ffmpeg) but it doesn't send the core AC3-stream to the external receiver. This is bad because I don't want to watch movies with the two crappy internal speakers of my machine when I could use my external amplifier to playback the AC3 core. So, in short: It would be great to see an option to passthrough the AC3 core of TrueHD streams via S/PDIF to an external receiver as it is already the case with DTS HD streams.
