VLC does not render the beginning of audio files

As said in the title, VLC 1.0.x does not decode the very beginning of audio files.

Sample can be found here: http://streams.videolan.org/issues/3152/Tick.wav

On WavPack sample, it can't be heard: http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/A-codecs/lossless/luckynight.wv

The first notes from the bass guitar in the intro are missing. This is however playing fine in any DirectShow player and also in MPlayer.

I provide two recording samples of the issue:

WavPack-MPlayer.mp3 is a normal playback by any DS player and MPlayer

WavPack-VLC.mp3 is the playback given by VLC, stopped after few seconds then restarted again.
