VLC's strange identification of codec information of .mp3 file
When we look for codec information of a .mp3 file, the codec name is shown as 'MPEG Audio layer 1/2'. When I referred to VLC Feature Formats, there seems to be a clear distinction between 'MPEG Audio layer 1/2' and an actual 'MP3'. So why does VLC identifies an MP3 file as an MP2 file instead of 'MPEG Audio layer 3' ?
I seen this behaviour in Windows, Android and Linux versions. Possibly it is same in all other versions.
