No video displayed - possibly geometry setting
VLC was working fine for a while but this week i noticed that video was not showing. An article suggested to remove ~/.config/vlc/vlc-qt-interface.conf
. This worked but only for the first video. On the second video the screen was blank again.
I did a diff and was able to narrow down to this line, where if i remove it, the video comes back for the first video:
< geometry=@ByteArray(\x1\xd9\xd0\xcb\0\x3\0\0\0\0\fl\0\0\x3\xa6\0\0\x13\xeb\0\0\bM\0\0\fl\0\0\x3\xcb\0\0\x13\xeb\0\0\bM\0\0\0\x1\0\0\0\0\xf\0\0\0\fl\0\0\x3\xcb\0\0\x13\xeb\0\0\bM)
geometry=@ByteArray(\x1\xd9\xd0\xcb\0\x3\0\0\0\0\xe\t\0\0\x2\xc8\0\0\x15\x88\0\0\ao\0\0\xe\t\0\0\x2\xed\0\0\x15\x88\0\0\ao\0\0\0\x1\0\0\0\0\xf\0\0\0\xe\t\0\0\x2\xed\0\0\x15\x88\0\0\ao)
the first is the line as it appears when i launch the app and a video is playing. the second is how it looks when i close the app. i'm not sure what order it's reading that or if it's reading before it plays, but that seems to be the culprit.
