Cursor teleports to left side of window when dragging from empty area

System:

  • Fedora 36
  • Linux kernel 6.0.5-200.fc36.x86_64 (64-bit)
  • KDE Plasma 5.26.2
  • X11
  • VLC 3.0.18 from Fedora's RPMFusion repository

When dragging VLC's main window by an empty area of the menubar (not the titlebar), the cursor teleports to the left side of the window during the drag. This is weird and probably shouldn't happen. When using a Wayland session (with VLC using XWayland, since it's not Wayland-compatible yet), this correctly does not happen.

This also happens for other apps that use libvlc, such as KDE's DragonPlayer and Dolphin file manager (which can use a libvlc-based component to render video previews). Here's how it looks in DragonPlayer, for example:
