A Minor problem
Opening certain .mp4 files causes VLC to panic instead of showing a file error
This seems to happen with small files copied off my mobile phone - less than 1kbyte size and is repeatable.
Using Version VLC 3.0.16 Vetinari - latest version as at 12 May 2022
Symptoms
all 12 cpu cores go to 100% utilization
top left "VLC media player" title and the filename title rapidly flicker
task Manager eventually says VLC not responding and i have to manually end task
%appdata%\vlc\crashdump is empty
VLC works fine with other files
other apps just stop and spit out a file error (Premier Elements, media player "cannot play the file", or "incorrect format", etc)
btw I'm technical but not a coder
