Weird and slow behaviour when stopping and starting
Hi,
I tried running VLC with the following commandline:
./build-asan/vlc -I dummy -A dummy -vv ~/Downloads/Rogue.One-A.Star.Wars.Story.2016.BluRay.10Bit.1080p.Multi.H265-d3g\[_color\]\[_size\]..mkv --no-audio --start-time=50 -I rc --run-time 1 --rc-host=127.0.0.1:8080
Then I wrote a testscript.sh
:
while true; do
sleep 1.412
echo stop
sleep 0.2
echo play
done
And used sh testscript.sh | nc 127.0.0.1 8080
.
I haven't done tracing yet to be able to quantify, but the playback after stop is magnitude slower when I comment sleep 0.2
, meaning that some wait after stop
actually make play
faster.
