No sound/video from VLC when listened with AMT client in a native multicast environment
OS: MacOS 11.6.1 (BigSur)
VLC version: Version 4.0.0-dev Otto Chriek (Intel 64bit) - Compiled by videolan with clang 12.0.0 (clang-1200.0.32.29) (Nov 27 2021 05:13:21)
Hardware: MacBookPro14,3 MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)
Logs: Please check attached log (amt-log.txt) amt-log.txt Steps:
- Ensure your receiver is in a native multicast environment
-
vlc -vvv amt://10.2.104.50@232.2.2.2:1234/ --amt-relay 62.40.109.31
(you can test it IRL, it is a permanent stream)
Reproducibility: Every time i use AMT in a a native multicast environment Applicable streams: All type of stream Behaviour observed:
a- The problem is that VLC acts if it was working but no sounds no video. When AMT command is launched, VLC detect that it operates in a multicast environment and try to switch to native multicast operation. Streams are received (checked with wireshark) but no sound nor video is observed, total silence
b- However, when AMT command is launched in a non native multicast environment AMT operation kicks in (verified with wireshark), stream is received and media can be visualised.
c- One thing also to take into account is that, the stream can be listened flawlessly via native VLC multicast:
