Android client doesn't prompt about a self-signed certificate
I'm trying to use nginx to set up an https reverse proxy to an internal h.265 transport stream served over http. I've configured nginx to require https with a self-signed certificate. (I actually want to use http basic authentication and https; also see #25711 (moved).) On Windows, when I run VLC 3.0.12, choose Media > Open Network Stream, and enter my URL (e.g. https://hostname/path
), I get a warning about the self-signed certificate and am prompted to continue or abort.
However, when I try doing the same thing with VLC 3.3.4 on Android (More > New Stream, and enter the same https://hostname/path
URL), nothing happens. I never get any warnings nor prompts.
I'm using VLC 3.3.4 on a Moto e5 Play running Android 8.0.0.
(In the log below from the Android client, I attempt to connect to https://debian-test/foo/bar
.)
