Subtitles only change when the frame does, causing short subtitles to sometimes be missed on low frame-rate video
Title is pretty self explanatory. But I'll give a little more detail: First of all this isn't a problem in the mpv Media Player, which matters simply because it means this isn't an issue that's somehow impossible to solve due to container limitations or something similar.
The test video I was using was a 1-fps AV1 video with SRT subtitles in an MKV container. I'm happy to provide it if needed, but creating something similar for testing shouldn't be difficult.
Ideally VLC would display subtitles with the highest level of accuracy allowed by each respective subtitle format, rather than enforcing frame-accurate changes.
