AMR encoding heinously stretches audio
I have compiled vlc 0.9.8a with ffmpeg and AMR codec. Playback of .3gp files works, but when I try to encode an .mp3 file into .3gp file, the resulting audio is heinously streched, as if each second stretched onto 4 seconds or so.
The command line used was: vlc -vvv song2.mp3 --sout '#transcode{acodec="sawb",ab="23850",samplerate="16000",channels="1"}:std{access=file,mux=3gp,dst=song2.3gp}'
Find log of the encoding command attached to this bug report.
Then try to play the song2.3gp (using vlc or mplayer).
Notable, that encoding from mp3 to m4a works properly: vlc -vvv song123.mp3 --sout '#transcode{acodec="mp4a",channels="2"}:std{access=file,mux=mp4,dst=song123.m4a}'
The binary package (suitable for ubuntu 8.10 Interpid Ibex) can be downloaded from http://arnest.catchmedia.com/vlc-amr_0.9.8a-6_i386.deb
I did not attached the deb package to the bug report, as it is of questionable legality.
