QuickTime video corruption introduced between 3.0.7-2019-02-08 and 3.0.7-2019-02-15
My dashcam produces QuickTime/MPEG4 video files. After updating to VLC 3.0.7 Win32 these were displayed corrupted (duplicate overlapping images, wrong and flickering colors, etc.) ffmpeg logs no errors for the files, and WMP plays them correctly.
Testing with nightly builds I found the problem is not in 3.0.7-2019-02-08 but is in 3.0.7-2019-02-15. I used VLC to record a 10MB sample of a video file, and the saved .AVI sample shows the same results with both versions.
The problem is reproducible on my Win 10 x64 system (AMD AM3+, Radeon 6450). But 3.7.0 release displays the same video fine on a Win 7 x64 Intel system (Core i3, HD3000).
I'll attach a 10MB sample video, VLC debug logs from playing it with both nightly builds, and a screenshot of the results with both nightly builds.
