4.0 regression: invalid read

The UI rework was ostensibly pushed without sanitizer testing. Just start it, #22187 (closed) and then:

../../modules/gui/qt/main_interface.cpp:270:9: runtime error: load of value 190, which is not a valid value for type 'bool'
