HDR10+ improves on static, one-setting-for-the-entire movie HDR(10) metadata with a maximum brightness of 1000 nits with dynamic metadata for scene by scene, frame to frame content-and-hardware-optimized adjustments with a maximum brightness of 4000 nits. HDR10+ is free, open-source software developed by Samsung to rival the benefits of Dolby Vision. Furthermore, HDR10+ completely avoids the prohibitively too expensive Dolby Vision license fees that keep from being purchased for incorporation into most 4k supporting hardware products. It looks much more beautiful than HDR10 with very noticeably better dynamic, scene by scene brightness and contrast adjustments to faithfully render video producers' intents and purposes optimally tuned to every supporting display hardware. Samsung has partnered with Panasonic to support HDR10+ in their TVs beginning in 2016. Vizio has added firmware support for many 4k TVs made in 2018, and 2019. Moreover, a full list of all of the TV makes and models as well as other media products that are certified to support HDR10+ is available at https://hdr10plus.org/certified-products . Many other tv models have not been certified but in fact support HDR10+. To give you a real world example, both of our household's TVs support HDR10+ but only 1 supports Dolby Vision. Every Amazon Prime Video release since 2017 has been (re)mastered in HDR10+ and they look much better quality than HDR10 did. Can we please add support for this? I appreciate it.
