Pasting URL surrounded by newlines creates unplayable playlist item
Suppose the clipboard content looks like this: " https://example.org/test.mp4"
And you paste that into the (single-line) address field in the "open network stream" dialog.
This creates an unplayable item, because VLC does not appear to trim the whitespace, which technically cannot be part of the URL anyway.
VLC should remove leading and trailing whitespace (" \r\n\t") before opening the URL.
