Opening a Blu-ray ISO file containing accented characters (e.g. ç, č, é, etc.) in its file name fails
OS: Windows 10 Pro, Version 1709, OS build 16299.248 The behaviour might be similar on other platforms, but I did not try.
VLC versions tried:
- 3.0.1 (release build)
- 4.0.0-20180304-0508 (nightly build)
To reproduce:
- Open an ISO file containing Blu-ray content that contains special accented characters in its file name (e.g. 'François Truffaut.iso'), either through the 'Open File...' dialog or through the Windows Explorer 'Open with' context menu action.
Expected behaviour:
- The Blu-ray opens correctly, e.g. with a clearly visible menu.
Observed behaviour:
- The Blu-ray does not open and/or display properly.
- Behaviour varies with ISO file; the user might see just a black seen, or alternatively other unexpected content (e.g. https://imgur.com/a/3x1J0).
- Consistently reproducible, with various ISO files and file names.
Possible workaround:
- Removing special accented characters from the ISO file name (e.g. 'François Truffaut.iso' -> 'Francois Truffaut.iso') will restore expected behaviour.
