VLC enters in infinite loop when it is executed with a mispelled video filename from the command line
To reproduce the issue, run vlc from the command line with a wrong video filename.
I would expect that vlc exit with an error message like file not found instead to enter in infinite loop and open many windows. Moreover vlc must be killed in order to stop it.

I don't remember bug numbers. It's as hard for me to look it up than it is for anybody else, and I have better things with my free time, like handling actual non-duplicate reports.

That I totally understandable but can you tell us where the core issue of this bug is at. Can we formulate one ticket which covers all of these little ones, so that we know for sure it has a ticket and can be picked up by someone.
And please stop deleting my tickets and comments, what possible use can that serve? Let's talk it out, not delete it out. It just frustrates me that by assuming the bug report already exists, we never reach the core of the problem and we keep getting the same bug-reports over and over.
