Crash upon start in SparkleUpdater (mac)

VLC crashes upon start when a video was played from shared folder on Linux Samba.

Not exactly sure about the replication steps. However, what happens to me:

Run a video from shared samba folder
Quit the player
Sleep the Mac over night
Run the player next day either by double-clicking a video, or by just opening VLC
VLC crashes and wants me to report bug to Apple

This scenario happens all the time. If I try to the same steps, but instead I eject the shared folder and restart VLC, no error happens.
