VLC Installer Defaults to Associating MIDI Files on Windows

VLC cannot play MIDI on Windows anymore - but the installer still offers to set the file association for *.mid files by default, even though it can't handle them.

Can the Windows installer stop attempting to associate file types it does not support?

NOTE: I can reproduce this in the current Windows installer as of 10/2/2016, which is given as 2.2.4 - the version drop down does not offer it, and I'm not sure whether or not the '2.2.x' is correct.
