Wish: View -> Playlist Table Columns -> File Name

It would be great if I could ask VLC to list and play the loaded (eg local) files sorted by file name.

A directory of MP3 files for example might have names "01 First Title", "02 Second Title", etc. I want to be able to play the tracks in that numerical (respectively alphabetical) order.

(The exact order should be the same order that the OS would show, eg on Mac OS X the exact order for VLC's sort-by-file-name should be the same as the order of sort-by-file-name in OSX Finder.)

How was this addressed? I see the attached in vlc-3.0.0-20170708-0446-git - I guess maybe someone could sort by the URI?

Also not sure how this is different from https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/5455 which has a patch
