VLC preventing sleep in stop mode

VLC Version 2.2.1 Terry Pratchett (Weatherwax) (Intel 64bit) MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012) MacBookAir5,2) OS X 10.11.2

Steps to reproduce:

1. open VLC and play a movie
2. stop movie
3. open activity monitor
4. switch to tab energy
5. look at column "preventing sleep" for for VLC

expected result: column "preventing sleep" shows "no" as with VLC 2.1.5

actual result: colum "preventing sleep" shows "yes"

QuickTime (mac) does not prevent sleep even when a movie is only paused. While a paused video did prevent sleep in VLC 2.1.5 it would be nice to address this too: #3724 (closed)
