Video Corruption on VC4 (Videocore IV) decoder on Android VLC (regression from 1.4.1)
Hi,
i'm using VLC Android (1.6.6.1) on a Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus with Cyanogenmod 12.1 (Lollipop 5.1.1).
This phone has a Broadcom VC4 (Videocore IV) multimedia chip and after i've upgraded from 1.4.1 to 1.6.2 and after 1.6.6.1), all the HD videos done with my phone (and other phones) are all corrupted during the playback. You can see the corruption on the bottom of the screenshot, as a purple smear.
This corruption wasn't present on 1.4.1. I've attached to this report a screenshot of the corruption and debug log, after playing the video.
Could be related to some changes on MMal raspberry decoder (http://www.jbkempf.com/blog/post/2015/This-week-in-VideoLAN-22)? I'm saying this because the Raspberry Pi and my phone share the same video decoder chip (VC4).
