[PATCH] Prevent Raising the window (and possibly switching virtual desktop) When Switching a Video
See: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=125368
I'm using vlc-2.2.0-1.mga5.tainted on Mageia Linux 5 x86-64 (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mageia) and often after I leave it in virtual desktop/virtual workspace 5 to play some songs and videos while I do other work, it switches to its active virtual desktop with a focus on itself, when starting to play a new video (after the older videos in the list finished playing) which interrupts what I'm doing at the moment. I don't recall such a problem with vlc-2.1.x. I am able to reproduce this behaviour on KDE 4 and on XFCE, so it seems to be global.
I'm going to attach a tentative patch (against vlc-2.2.x-git-master - 451281dbb8571c26a576c7dfaf4e67662f8804ca ) to fix the problem for me, but you may opt to make this behaviour it a user-settable option in the UI.
