VLC can not open and play .f4v video and error"segment fault(core dumped)"

VLC can not open and play .f4v video,then I try open it in terminal and it shows that:

VLC media player 2.2.0-rc2 Weatherwax (revision 2.2.0+ppa3.2)
[0000000002556118] core libvlc:Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.segment fault(core dumped).

I try to play the video file with totem and it works well.At present,vlc works well for others formats media file but for .f4v videos.I install vlc from ppa:mc3man/trusty-media.

Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS with 3.13.0-46-generic [#77](https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/-/issues/77)-Ubuntu SMP Mon Mar 2 18:23:39 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
