VLC media-information Codec - wrong framerate for FullHD 50p video

VLC media player 2.0.3 Twoflower Debian Linux 7.5.0 GNOME Desktop Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 #1 (closed) SMP Debian 3.2.60-1+deb7u3 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I load a FullHD 1920x1080, 50p (50 frames per second - progressiv) video to VLC media player on Debian Linux. If I check the media information tab "Codec" there is displayed a frame rate of 100 fps instead of 50 fps. Video Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (h264), resolution: 1920x1080 For videos with framerate 50i (interlaced) there is also displayed 50 fps in VLC media-information tab "Codec".

The same VLC version on Windows displays correct 50 fps on 50p videos.
