Subtitle Issues (DX11)
Summary
Unable to predictably change subtitle background styling using the command "freetype-background-opacity". I'm currently unable to fully remove the subtitle background it seems.
What is the current bug behavior?
Opacity is defined as "0 = transparent, 255 = totally opaque" in the command list, but it seems as though values closer to 0 and 255 are more opaque, and values near the midway point are the least opaque (but still seems to stop at around 0.25 opacity).
On top of this, the background opacity seem to be influencing the subtitle's outline opacity in a unpredictable fashion! Even if no command has been supplied regarding the outline, it seems as if that's the one changing in appearence, whilst the background is still very much visible. This creates a sort of "hole/ halo" effect around the text that then "cuts" through the background layer.
I'm also unable to change the background's color using the "freetype-background-color" command.
Am I using outdated/ unrelated commands?
What is the expected correct behavior?
When "freetype-background-opacity" is set to 0, the background is fully invisible/ disabled. When set to 255, it's fully opaque/ visible. When set to ~128, it's ~50% visible.
Subtitle background commands doesn't affect subtitle's outlines and vice versa.
Does it work with the official VLC apps?
The behavior of the subtitle style options in the VLC app seem rather inconsistent as well, but in a different way to what I'm experiencing with the plugin. Also, in the VLC app, there doesn't seem to be an option for changing the opacity for the subtitle's backgrounds, just a toggle...
