Request for code snippet on specifying resolution
Problem to solve
Videos coming in with incorrect resolutions.
Intended users
My use case is with 360 videos which have a great deal of pixilation if they come in with lower than at least 4k resolution. It could also be used for allowing users to set their preferred resolution which would have broader applications.
Proposal
Please just include a brief code snippet. I'm aware of the following but am not an expert with vlc and don't know where exactly to use it. "--preferred-resolution={-1 (Best available), 1080 (Full HD (1080p)), 720 (HD (720p)), 576 (Standard Definition (576 or 480 lines)), 360 (Low Definition (360 lines)), 240 (Very Low Definition (240 lines))} Preferred video resolution When several video formats are available, select one whose resolution is closest to (but not higher than) this setting, in number of lines. Use this option if you don't have enough CPU power or network bandwidth to play higher resolutions." from https://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_command-line_help. You need to give it to the libvlc constructor.
Vr videos, other high end videos, or letting users specify their preferred resolution. Benefit makes videos watchable, and is likely an easy request for vlc experts/devs.

A quick code snippet. Hopefully easy.
