Poor orientation switching experience with non-default video orientation setting
(Hiving off and continuing from #931 (comment 38622))
Description
If Video screen orientation
setting in preferences is set to anything other than Automatic (sensor)
then the process of switching video orientation during playback is unnecessarily long and inconvenient.
Expected behavior
Video's orientation should be switchable with a single tap of the orientation button and this button should not be hidden behind toast message overlay.
Actual behavior
First tap locks the orientation. This is redundant and irrelevant when the video orientation setting is already set to non-default.
A toast message overlay is then displayed over the orientation button. This means that another tap of orientation button is not possible until the toast message goes away.
Once the toast message disappears, a second tap of orientation button is required to switch video orientation.
Steps to reproduce
-
Set
Video screen orientation
preference to anything other thanAutomatic (sensor)
. -
Play a video and note that its orientation is locked as per your preference.
-
Tap on the orientation button.
-
A toast message is displayed indicating that the orientation is now locked (which is redundant and irrelevant as per the already set preference).
-
Note that another tap of orientation button is not possible since the toast message is overlaid on top of it.
-
Wait for the toast message to disappear and then tap orientation button again to be able to switch orientation successfully.
