Resuming video after screen off not working

In the newest nightly builds, resuming playback after the screen was turned off and on again is not possible. The screen stays black and the play button does nothing.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start playback of a video
2. Press the device's power off button to turn off the screen
3. Press the device's power button again to turn on the screen
4. Unlock screen (if required)
5. Video display in VLC will be black and play button won't work

Setup:

• VLC Android Nightly VLC-Android-2.1.1-20170302-0056-ARMv8.apk
• Android 7.0.1 and Android 4.1.2
