Getting started documentation: Core.Initialize()

Hi guys, I've just realized I missed the step from getting started docs - calling Core.Initialize() It's not clear from docs and samples what is the best way to do it (I'm on Xamarin.Android). Can it be called only once on application startup (specifically Application subclass)?

Also, why was it working without calling that method? I had no exceptions when I tested on my device.
